Kali 2.0, Kismet plugin for Ubertooth, KIS_SRC_=/usr/src/kismet ???

Hi,
I am trying to use the Kismet plugin for Ubertooth in Kali live USB.
Ubertooth expects the Kismet source to be in /usr/src/kismet. In Kali 2.0 Kismet is preinstalled and the source code cannot be found in /usr/src/kismet/
This path can be overridden by setting the KIS_SRC_DIR environment variable to an appropriate path.The instruction is
cd plugin-ubertooth
KIS_SRC_DIR= ...

I found kismet in Kali 2.0 in different other directories e.g.
/usr/bin/kismet
/etc/kismet/
/usr/share/kismet

I tried setting KIS_SRC_DIR to those, without success however.
Could it be that since Kismet is preinstalled there is no path to the source code for Kismet?
Do I need to install Kiset from start?
