Version 1.2-rc2 (changes from aircrack-ng 1.2-rc1) - Released 10 April 2015:

Airtun-ng: Adds WPA CCMP and TKIP decryption and CCMP encryption
Compilation: Added support for DUMA.
Makefile: Renamed 'unstable' to 'experimental'.
Airodump-ng: Fixed XML sanitizing.
Airmon-ng: Airmon-zc is now stable enough to replace airmon-ng.
Manpages: Removed airdriver-ng manpage and references to it (forgot to do it before the previous release).
Manpages: Updated 'see also' references in all manpages.
PCRE: Added it in various places and docs.
WZCook: Fixed processing values stored in register.
Updated a few headers files (if_llc, ieee80211, ethernet and if_arp).
Travis CI: updated make parameter and add testing with pcre.
Compilation: de-hardcode -lpcap to allow specifying pcap libraries.
Makefile: Fixed installing/uninstalling Airdrop-ng documentation files.
Makefile: Fixed uninstalling ext_scripts.
Airodump-ng: Added new paths (and removed one) for OUI files and simplified logic to find the OUI file.
Aircrack-ng: Fixed ignoring -p when specified after -S.
Airmon-ng: fixes for openwrt busybox ps/grep issues which do not seem present in other versions of busybox
Airmon-ng: fix vm detection.
Airserv-ng: Fixed channel setting (and assert call).
Airodump-ng: Fixes to NetXML (unassociated clients missing and various other small bugs) and update the code to match current NetXML output.
Airodump-ng: Removed requirement for 2 packets before AP is written to output (text) files.
Airodump-ng: Fixed formatting of ESSID and display of WPA/WPA2 (as well as a bunch of other small fixes) in CSV file.
Airodump-ng: Fixed GPSd.
Airodump-ng: Allow to specify write interval for CSV, kismet CSV and NetXML files.
Airserv-ng: Fixed wrong station data displayed in Airodump-ng.
General: Fixed 64 bit promotion issues.
General: Fixed a bunch of uninitialized values and non-zeroed structures (upon allocating them).
General: Added Stack protection.

Step by step, plz

Prerequisites:

pkg-config *** already on kali 1.10
libsqlite3-dev *** already on kali 1.10
libpcap-dev *** already on kali 1.10
libnl-dev *** must add

Get and Install needed lib:

apt-get install libnl-dev

Get and Install new Aircrack-ng 1.2rc2:

wget http://download.aircrack-ng.org/airc...1.2-rc2.tar.gz

tar -zxvf aircrack-ng-1.2-rc2.tar.gz

cd aircrack-ng-1.2-rc2

make

make install make sqlite=true make sqlite=true install make prce=true make pcrc=true install

Update OUI:

sudo airodump-ng-oui-update

airmon-ng creates a different virtual name then old version. In my case new airmon-ng created "wlan3mon" instead of old "mon0".

That will be a problem for some programs and scripts.

had the same problem. wlanXmon is now your monitor mode - mon0. it works a bit.. had some problems with injections (aireplay -9 mon0) but that was under ubuntu 14.10 :)

Cleared up my -1 channel issue, though.

I have been checking it out, but airodump-ng gives for each client only 10 probes. So if client is sending more probes, then these probes will not be printed/saved to cvs.

I checked source code and in airodump-ng.h found this
#define NB_PRB 10 /* size of probed ESSID ring buffer */

So max 10 probes per client are possible. I recompiled with larger number but, now I need to take care when upgrades will be available.

Whan can we do about it?

Aircrack-ng v1.2 rc2 is currently in the test repos - will be main public once its been fully tested.
Best bet is to hang tight.

New airodump-ng has wps and manufacturer - Nice, scans alot quicker than reaver wash. Also I never figured out to fix "rssi 00" on atheros chipsets using reaver wash which sucks .

Only thing though this update breaks alot of scripts and programs that rely on the old way aircrack-ng named virtual interfaces. Aircrack's developer thinks other programmers should update their scripts or modify the code in the new airmon-ng to name the interfacs differently. I would if I could, someone please do it.

besides having to change command lines, loosing the good old "mon0" to something like "wlan3mon" will make miss the old ways :( There is something about mon0 that could never be replaced. It be like demolishing an old brick house for a brand new hangar. Can't stop progress I suppose.

It worked for me Quest, when I originally installed this update. I checked the aircrack-ng website for that problem and it suggests may be a path issue.
I just ran again and this is my output:

so I was missing a file /usr/sbin/airodump-ng-oui-update. I don't know why.

Then with some experimentation, all that was needed to display the makers is a /etc/aircrack-ng/airodump-ng-oui.txt
I can now see the manufacturers with the --manufacturer option.

So, if you already have that airodump-ng-oui text file, save it, you might need it later. If not... try and copy/paste the airodump-ng-oui-update file from another Kali installation (doesn't have the be the same) > to /usr/sbin/ and then run airodump-ng-oui-update.

Or, download airodump-ng-oui-update from https://svn.aircrack-ng.org/trunk/scripts/ > copy it in /usr/sbin/ then run airodump-ng-oui-update.

I'm a Linux newbie for starters took a linux course to try to get familiar and most problems I have been solving myself but this one i'm not to sure how to resolve I know the debugging info is telling me the problem I just don't know how to solve it.

I'm on the lastest update for kali did the apt-get update upgrade etc etc.
when I try to run airdrop-ng this is what I get:

renegadevii - you find a solution for this? I'm kind of new myself and just ran across this issue. I'd prefer to use airdrop then having to use the manual method of aireplay.
