Post-Update: Getting Black Screen After Log In

Hi all:

I am running VBox 6.0.20 on a Mac with Kali. A few days ago I ran updates on Kali 5.8.0 Since then I get to the log in screen, but just after log in the screen goes black.

I've gotten as far as thinking this is some kind of a graphics/display issue. If I go into Vbox and change the Display>Graphics Controller settings from VMSVGA to VBoxVGA and VBoxSVGA, I still get a black screen, but when I try and quit I see the following errors:

"Vboxclient: Failed to register sizing support, rc=VERR_ACCESS_DENIED"
and
"Vboxclient: Failed to get display change request, rc=VERR_ACCESS_DENIED"

I am hoping someone can help. Keep in mind that I cannot get into Kali, so I can't use command line etc.
