This worked fine in the v1.x but with v2, when rebooting and choosing the external USB hard drive to boot from, the boot just completely hangs. I never get the grub menu. I will try the same install but with the x32 version just in case but just wondered if anyone had any ideas? The idea here is to make a completely portable Kali 2.0 since all I need to do is to carry around a small hard drive. I understand I can do the same with a thumb drive, but I think performance will be faster than the thumb drives I have on hand right now.
