try turning monitoring mode for your interface manually and then run wifite
you probably now how but just in case
run:
ifconfig to confirm your interface name, most likely wlan1
then:
My Nexus 6p struggles with HID interfaces, when I switch between different USB modes they would just disappear after a few switches.

can you see your interfaces in dev? try the below in kali cmd
ls /dev/hid*
you should see something like:
/dev/hidg0
/dev/hidg1
if you don't see any interfaces try the below command in...
# is used as for comments so anything after # won't be considered
