so here is short version, I skip fumbling, tumbling, trial and error part
1. at start when running hashcat -I it only see CPU

I hope you find ansver, I have same problem. Fresh install of kali linux(could not find older version) and AMD radeon 6850 HD
I let you know If I get it work.
