Fix is easy: edit mkinitramfs located in /etc/sbin as stated in my previous post, then run as root update-initramfs. I no longer have the issue present after doing these steps.

This is only cosmetic, and it needs to be fixed in /usr/sbin/mkinitramfs
by copying modules.builtin.bin too:
