    Well apparently I had 2 downloads of Kali 2016.1. One of which did not have a valid sha1, the other did. It appears that I when using the win32 I selecting the image that did not have a valid sha1....

    I've read plenty of times on the forums about people having to remove and reinsert there USB stick while installing Kali 2.0 to HDD and this gets them past the cd-rom error. I've tried this...

    Did you ever find a solution to this? I'm installing to HDD and tried the suggestion above by removing and reinserting the USB stick but had no success.
