Got an old MBA 11" (2GB RAM, 64GB SSD), which I got and was useless for any modern incarnation of macOS.
So I decided to make it a light Kali laptop. Aside from being somewhat slow due to having to...
IMO the kali themes need some tweaking. If you like to pin or shade windows, and have the appropriate controls added in your title bar, they look out of place, because they haven't been adapted....
For those who don't want to advertize loudly what they are doing, or those who simply often use Kali as a daily driver, and simply use it to have occasionally the tools handy, while doing all sorts...
It seems that defsec is now kali-purple, which would make offsec kali-blue.
Correspondingly, the kali-purple icons are appropriately colorized, but not so what logically ought to be kali-blue
I?m familiar with these commands, but all the kernels that these bring up, are kali versions, but you suggested using a non-kali kernel.
So when you were talking about ?from my package manager?, I...
I guess I'm missing something... what package manager do you refer to?
duplicate!
I'm curious if anyone else running the new kernel on a PC/intel-Mac has issues.
I can boot with the 6.0 kernel, log in, but after a random time, the whole system freezes and doesn't see to

All x86 and x86_64 is little-endian. m68k and possibly PPC are big-endian.
Besides M$, there?s Apple?s Rosetta, QEMU, and of particular interest in this context, Box64!
They all do just fine...
I?m fully aware of what you write, it was simply so far out of the range of the expected, that this day and age anyone, on a modern platform, would want to care running ancient 32-bit code, when the...
Oh! OK 🤦🏻*♂️
Seriously, though, who?s still running 32-bit code on x86? Especially on a recent release OS?
The only reason I need this, is for some commercial software not released for arm64...
I followed the instructions here: https://www.kali.org/docs/arm/x86-on-arm/ but whenever I try to run some amd64 linux binary I get "uncaught target signal 5" and similar errors, or "Exec format...
There seem to be consistently conflicts between packages part of the Kali RasPi distribution:

The Pulseaudio preferences app (paprefs package) doesn't work properly (can't find relevant modules) if there's not a symlink /usr/lib/pulse-15.0 pointing to /usr/lib/pulse-15.0+dfsg1
While it's...
Well, things got more interesting: this seems to be a CABLE issue.
But it's not a bad cable: the cable worked fine with the old kernel, the cable works fine with drives on my Mac, the cable works...
Setup: RasPi 4b w/ 8GB RAM booting of USB3 SSD
What worked: booting with the old 5.4.83:
both with screen attached, or headless
powered by USB powersupply, or by computer
What works:...
Well, it isn't anymore, which is great, but it seems to have introduced a problem, which I'll ask about in another thread...
I like the Kali-Dark theme, but I also like the "pin" and "shade" buttons in my windows.
Adding them I noticed, that the Kali-Dark theme didn't treat them consistent with the "hide" and "maximize"...
After creating a backup image of the install, I tried the above, and in essence, it works.
The steps lack the removal of the debian sources, and I still have the non-Kali-kernel and the...
These are the commands I used to build (from the root account):

After perusing the web some more, it seems this should be ignored:

Unfortunately, because of this https://forums.kali.org/showthread.php?60271-Can-t-log-into-bug-tracker-trying-to-reset-password-gives-an-error I can't log into Mantis to submit a bug there, hence I...
I still got this problem...
...so I can't report bugs!
I found this here https://gist.github.com/warecrash/f35d4f9a822c452b0c54bbdb47c0c9a5 and it made me wonder if instead of going through the hassle of building a custom image for a BeagleBone Black, I...

Why is Kali for Raspberry Pi still stuck at kernel 5.4.83?
The reason that I could find was some sort of patch for some devices not being available, but the link that referred to the problem, shows...
Subject says it all: the instructions at https://www.kali.org/docs/installation/btrfs/ seem very PC-centric...
The latest round of software updates triggered an error and leads to an inability to update the raspi-firmware package, which is surprising, because obviously this clash was here before, but didn't...
The latest round of updates, both on amd64 and arm64, get me this error message:

I have two, nearly identical kali systems, except for the obvious differences: one on an old MacBookAir, the other on a RasPi 4/8GB
On the RasPi, for unknown reasons and with no (so far)...
There's no answer, but I can say this: there's a bug somewhere.
For shits and giggles I tried to modified /boot/config.txt to load kernel8-alt.img instead of kernel8l-alt.img, and that resulted in...
Sorry, can't help, but I'm curious because it might be related to a problem I'm having: are you talking about a fresh install, or did that happen after a software update?
The reason I'm asking, I...
As the subject says: the attempt to log into the bug tracker fails, attempting to reset the password fails with the following error:

Been booting kernel8l-alt.img on my Raspi4-8GB for ages, as that's what the config.txt suggested.
Lately, however, after doing an apt upgrade, apt always get this message:

Yes, doable. I guess I'll have to find the time to write it up how.
Involves first installing Raspian, updating to the proper (beta?) firmware that supports USB booting.
Then imaging the usb drive,...
This works, but it's a tiny bit tricky.
Basically: first install Raspian on a card, update to the latest USB-boot-capable firmware
Then you have to image your kali card onto the USB drive
Then...

RaspberryPi.org has, months ago, published a ROM update for the RasPi4 that allows USB booting.

I?ve got this working, sort of, on a RasPi.

I?d like to rearrange some aspects of the menu, but I don?t want to edit the files that are part of the Kali distribution, such as to not having collisions.
What?s the recommended way of doing that?...
