Can you install xen on OSX?
If your CPU supports VT-D you can directly mount the nvidia to a VM.
Disclaimer: DOING THIS ON A LAPTOP IS VERY BUGGY as both GPU's share the same framebuffer.
I switched from http.kali.org to repo.kali.org
Much faster.
Get a Sandisk extreme 8 or 16 gb. Then just install and run off of the SD card entirely. Assuming the dell can boot SD.
Or consider simply upgrading....
Oh, purely for testing. i saw an issue with one and troubleshooted through all wifi cards I own.
After I posted this I tested an Intel 6250 (properly enforced) and an Internal atheros in an Eee...
C7 has an intel sandy bridge in it. Full blown x86 and no sign of ARM.
chrbuntu's bootloader is probably a solid starting point though.
After setting reg domain to BO:
An Alfa AWUS036NH behaves normally. Sets itself to 30dBm. WON'T allow setting to 33, which it's specced for.
A Buffalo WLI-UC-GNHP allows me to set it to 30dBm,...
I've run into the same bug.
Thinkpad x120e.
AMD E-350 platform. Only happened after instally catalyst drivers.
apt-get -t experimental install fglrx-driver fglrx-control
aticonfig --initial -f
apt-get -t experimental install amd-opencl-icd
That procedure worked for my E-450 APU system. hooray...
Would installing the latest catalyst driver help?
Worked for me as well.
Sort of surprised Kali shipped so broken.
late 2012 macbook Air, live boot works 100%. internal wifi now supports injection, somehow. It never did on BT.
Thinkpad T420: Flawless.
Thinkpad X230: Flawless.
Thinkpad X130e: Live boot works...
My ivy bridge Air booted it fine. Once. Stock i386 image.
Ever since that boot, it fails. Still works on normal PC's though.
Murata SS2907002, WiFi/BT module
Since a nexus 7 can run ubuntu touch, i'd imagine building kali for one would be fairly straightforward, assuming you can interface with it. (bt, touch.)
That only appears to patch mac80211.
Regardless, when i was messing with it earlier, -9 failed to confirm injection support.
I'll revisit it tomorrow.
The current driver for the internal wifi does not support monitor mode.
It barely supports normal mode...
I've since aquired an ARM chromebook.
Running into the same issues all of you have.
I suspect things will get better once the upstream support reaches our kernel, but for now I'm just plugging...
Not sure how a manual install would behave. My issue is on the pre-built vmware image from the download page.
Using the stock VMWARE release; Every boot (consistently) VMWARE Player hangs for ~30 seconds. Completely locked up. It does recover and move on without further issue, though.
'Old' workflow in BT was hitting ctrl-alt-t for new term windows.
That seems to be missing and I can't find a working hotkey tool.
Halp?
dhclient seems to error out on something relating to...samba.
Is there a way to fix, or better way to go about forcing dhcp releasing?
Since I don't have one to test on;
Does the internal wifi chipset on the ARM chromebook support packet injection, or is this build more focused on USB wifi adapters?
Thanks
Google fu tells me...
