After updating to "Linux xxxx 4.6.0-kali1-amd64 #1 SMP Debian 4.6.2-1kali1 (2016-06-17) x86_64 GNU/Linux" yesterday i am getting the below message while booting.

Now the laptop does not...

me too. I tried running the --fix-missing with apt-get upgrade but did still the same result. There is a chromium update also. Anybody else getting the same error messages.

Try booting Kali from the usb on your notebook without installing. Check if it recognizes the network adaptors.

I also had a Realtek 8723 wifi on my notebook. It was not working with Kali 1.0.5. Upgraded to 1.0.6 and it started working. I guess more drivers would be available with the new version.
