The issue is apparently within the Debian kernel. I don't know if it's been fixed yet. Honestly, I ended up reinstalling Windoze and running it in VirtualBox instead.

Yep, same thing happened to me on a new ASUS laptop. The necessary drivers are apparently not yet part of the Debian kernel. I ended up putting Windows back on my machine and using a virtual machine...
