Thanks mmusket33. I'm still using rc2 and my wlan0 gets somewhat appended, making the interface unusable. I've been using:


ifconfig wlan0 down
iwconfig wlan0 mode monitor
macchanger -r wlan0...

the only caveat of using iwconfig is it stays on until reboot as to where you can start an stop airmon anytime in your session.
