Hi deadlyhabit,
Sorry to be lazy, but can you mention the benefits of pciutils with regard to airmon-ng/monitor mode?
On another note I'm surprised more people don't try Wicd as a network...
You can also use:
airmon-ng check kill
instead of killing all of the "processes that could cause trouble" manually (it will kill all of them automatically). aG
Thank you Name Taken, I look forward to checking out dm-crypt as per your suggestion, aG.
I've never used Fern before reading this post but can confirm I get issues with any wireless adapter I use, post-Fern. Fern works OK (for what it does) but I can't connect to any wireless APs after...
What is the 'recommended' way to create (smallish [few gig]) encrypted volumes/images now that Truecrypt is no longer secure?
I used to keep a lot of my sensitive directories in a Truecrypt...
Nice solve zak53; it is definitely an issue with the default GNOME desktop environment as blackace306 hasn't had it in KDE & I certainly don't experience it with MATE. There are certainly going to be...
Hey Quest,
You can check out the MATE Desktop Environment project at: http://mate-desktop.org/

I'm enjoying this release.
Keep in mind I'm already a fan of Debian 8 & I am using the MATE desktop environment (with Wicd (wicd-curses) for a network manager. I agree the default GNOME desktop...
Hi mmusket33,
Thank you for the tutorial. It would be handy if airdrop-ng was in Kali's repositories too (as per/Backtrack)...
Yes, this install of airdrop-ng is causing the original wireless...
Wow, there is a way to get it working using lorcon2 & I finally got it working from a post right here on these forums:...
Hi there. The source for lorcon-old & pylorcon, required for airdrop-ng, is down. The airdrop installer collects both packages from http://802.11ninja.net which has been offline for a couple of weeks...

Thank you mmusket33!
That’s great news; I’m very much looking forward to your next release. Please drop me a PM if you’d like any additional testing done as I’ve just got a fresh/clean Kali...
No problems with the delay mmusket33 - I know you’re often busy with other projects. I’m just getting my Kali system back online after a fresh install so will do some testing with PwnSTAR when time...
Strangely enough (or not), while updating/upgrading my new install it would freeze when setting up initramfs-tools (0.116kali) … I had to revert my BIOS settings again in order to get through a...
Will installing Kali with degraded BIOS settings in order to get around a kernel panic during install result in permanent downgraded performance?
To stop an installation kernel panic that...

Nice one mmusket33 re. --session=/folder/filename - added that to my reaver 1.3 script; handy to keep the session directories separate!
I've got a few routers to dig out of storage before I...
You're most welcome. I had a go with your method & it's certainly a better approach; especially for beginners who would most likely be gravitating towards a script like PwnSTAR in the first place....
Thank you mmusket33 for the detailed how to...
I keep a USB (persistent) install of Kali 1.0.9a as part of my kit for recovery situations as it seems stable on most systems (Kali 1.1.0a...
Thanks for the reply mmusket33 & all the good work you/MTeams do. I ended up doing exactly what you recommended on my USB (persistence) install of Kai (which I keep Reaver 1.3 (seems to grab PSKs...
Thanks thepoor. How did you go? Are the interfaces defined at the start of the script or continuously throughout it? Hopefully I can get a chance to have a look myself this evening but I won't have...
This script looks really interesting; look forward to trying it out when I get home next week. Just wondering if anything needs to be changed in the script now that aircrack-ng 1.2 RC 2 has changed...
