Ahh, yes, it could be, but that requires MATE. I'd either be running the default 2019.4 which uses Xfce or sticking with the original and going 2019.4 Gnome, although I don't think there's anything...

No sir, it seems to be proprietary, but I'm pretty sure there are taskbar/panel-type resource monitors available out there. ParrotSec uses MATE, the new default Kali uses Xfce; I think I'm going to...
Hey everyone! Does anyone know a way to add a resource monitor to Kali like the one in Parrot OS? Seems it'd be easier now that it's running Xfce and not Gnome, although I think Parrot runs MATE...
Hey all, just wondering what the deal is with the HUGE list of held back packages in 2019.3. I see ones I know I want/need and others I don't really care about, just wondering. Why so many? What did...
Forgot to update the thread: I fixed the issue. At first, I thought it was something to do with an update to Kali's kernel and something to do with the webcam. I went into the BIOS and disabled the...
Just reinstalled Linux Mint with no issues. It must be something with the 2018.4 kernel and a piece of hardware in my laptop. Hmm.....
I really can't find much info about this regarding specific issues. It's a Linux USB Video Class (UVC) driver which defines video streaming functionality on the Universal Serial Bus. Seems like...
I'll get the grub loader/gui login prompt but once I choose to boot into Kali it throws that UVC message at me and I have to restart.
Hey all. I typically spend a few months with a Linux distro then switch. I've been a sysadmin for 11 years and have decided to pursue a new career in either software/web development or InfoSec...
Weird. Not sure how that line became non-commented. Either way, still no luck. Getting the same output.
root@Kali:~# cat /etc/apt/sources.list
deb http://http.kali.org/kali kali-rolling main contrib non-free
deb-src http://http.kali.org/kali kali-rolling main contrib non-free
I assumed it was &&, but when you wrote the command out in your last post you only included one & so I followed that. I just ran it again using && and still getting same output.
Tried using the "locate" command for one of the packages it says is missing. Output is as follows-
root@Kali:~# locate policy.2.6.glib-sharp.installcligac...
Already been done.
Edit: Sorry, _default, I ran commands very similar to that but not those exact ones and I'm not sure if I did them simultaneously. Here is the output of those commands:
...
I have already checked my sources.list and everything is as it should be.
I'll check out the log. Kali was working fine last time I booted into it, although I didn't run any updates/upgrades. The system runs fine, was just trying to understand why this is happening. I'll...
Hey all. The title says it all. I've tried 4 different methods to fix this issue and can't seem to figure it out. Here is the output:
root@Kali:~# apt-get upgrade
Reading package lists... Done...
I've literally spent over 50 hours trying to get Kali and Windows 10 Pro to dual boot on my 2016 X1 Carbon Gen 4. I'm pretty sure I'm having a Grub issue like a lot of people do. I have secure boot...
