After running
./dkms-install.sh

I get the error

So, after some further research I think I may have found the root of the issue.

See result of:

apt-get install realtek-rtl88xxau-dkms

Result:

The following NEW packages will be installed:...

Now this is even stranger. As suggested, I removed the driver and ran 'apt install realtek-rtl88xxau-dkms' (result below)
