Unsuccessful experience with Kali in N8000

    Hi Everyone,

I had many issues during the kali instalaltion process in my Samsung Note N8000
When I try to execute this command line :

    Code:
    dd if=/dev/block/mmcblk0p6 of=recovery.img_orig
It shows me an error message even if my device is rooted.

Does anyone have a video on how to install kali in such device.

    Thanks in advance.

As far as I know, the available Kali image for tablet is specific to the Note 10.1.

The only way to install on Non-Note 10.1 or any tablet and smartphone is through android apps such as Linux Deploy and Complete Linux Installer.

clearday: I believe he's refering to the specific version of the Note 10.1, I can't remember all of them off the top of my head, but mine is a GT-N8013, and I know there's an N8020 as well.

ouam3r: I'm having some problems as well, I'm waiting on a moderator to approve my post. The error I was getting was related to write access in the root directory, leaving me unable to create a backup recovery image there, or move the recorvery.img and linux.img files into the root directory.. I can't remember exactly what the error was at the moment, but soon as my post goes through I'll cross link it here so everyone can see. Whats the exact wording of the error you're getting?

    Hi Everyone,

I succeeded to install and run Kali on my Galaxy N8000, but the only problem I'm facing now is how to get WIFI works.
I found some guys on other forums asking the same thing.

    Any thoughts?

I know what error your facing with its with write access etc.

Well to.fix that you have to open busybox wait for it to do its with all the letters flashing on the screen then

Once thats done there should be a drop down arrow on the left hand side

Click it and check the box that says dd

And you should be good to go

This is easy they actually mentioned this in the download instructions

    No.wifi right?

Click the comp.thingy on the upper right hand side

Go to connect to hidden wireless network
Type in the SSID (network name) choose wpa or wpa2 personal for the authentication.

type in password and viola w8 for a bit

You should be connected but you'll notice that it will still be trying to.connect though you're connected to fix that just click the comp thingy again and disconnect the p2pO interface
