[No Xterm available on GUI] Need to Reboot Kali Without Grub

I accidentally issued a command apt autoremove and rebooted Kali (VM)
After rebooting, I am able to log into Kali BUT I do not have any button to click.

If there a way I can boot Kali without GRUB and then using command prompt to reinstall the applications?
    Urgent help appreciated!

Simply change to a virtual terminal with CTRL-ALT-F2 to F6 (for tty2 to tty6 when the X-org is running). You don't need any GUI buttons here.
Log-In an reinstall the required packages. Xterm as example.

You need GRUB to boot Linux and use the user space tools like apt. Linux doesn't provide any boot loader.
