Can't Install Maltego on a Live USB

I am trying to install Maltego on a Live USB of Kali. The error message I receive is E: Unable to locate package maltego. I have tried traditional methods for installing with no luck and have also tried sudo apt nano /etc/apt/sources.txt to update files with no luck. Can Maltego be installed on live USB or am I missing something?

A 'Live USB' is a 'fixed image, its an ISO format, by definition its not writable..
