I did apt upgrade a week ago. Now when I log into KDE the screen is blank for 30 seconds before the desktop loads. But the background image does not load, the background is black. Everything else seems unaffected. I've tried Configure Desktop and Wallpaper menu to change the background image but still black. Occasionally the task bar disappears for about 10 seconds and this is annoying and scary. I just tried apt upgrade again hoping maybe it was discovered and fixed but nothing fixed. The only way I know how to fix these types of problems is to do a complete reinstall and I just did that 6 months ago for a different set of problems after upgrading. Any helpful ideas?
