yes i am logged in as root, although i am using a vmware on macbook so i am having some issues therefore dont knw if that is the course

What about launching the network manager by typing "NetworkManager" only in the terminal (be carefull with the caps!)?
Have you ever thought about installing it all to an live-usb stick like I did? (just as a sidenote )
If you want to know: 2 partitions: 3.5GB FAT32 and XGB ext3 called "persistence". You need to format as MBR not as GUID-PT (Options in DiskUtily). Keep in mind that ext3 formatting only works with a linux system running
Use UNetBootIn to copy the files to fat32. I discovered that UNetBootIn only worked on Windows. Your system is now bootable for windows machines.

Pressing ALT (Option) while booting should now show: EFI-Boot
