Hydra tool troubleshooting

I need help what do I need to input for target ip address(can I input url instead of ip address?), target port, module, and module settings. I don't know what these are all. All I know is how to input Username and Password file on hydra tool. I input the username as email address because I'm trying to recover email password.

Inside the man page, you will find the answers.
If you have a URL, I'm sure you can look up the IP associated with the URL
