I had issues with two VirtualBox VMs on two separate laptops repeatedly crashing when doing heavy OpenVAS scanning using NAT for the VM interfaces. Changing the interfaces to pass-through solved the crash issue. I haven't had a chance to attempt to recreate, as my test environment isn't that large and setting one up isn't high on my list.
