Installing alfa awus036nh drivers

I recently bought a awus036nh and want to use it with Kali. Unfortunately I am new to linux and have no clue as to how to install the drivers for it. I have downloaded the latest compat-wireless package but it is a .tar.gz or .tar.xz and I have no clue what to do with it. Any help would be great.

Just extract the driver from the archive:

tar xvfz filename.tar.gz

look at the extracted files, you should find a guide explaining the installation process, it's generally a file called INSTALL.txt
