Failed to acquire org.gnome.DisplayManager after nVidia driver install

When I boot into my Live USB stick with persistence it boots up like backtrack did. When I type gdm3 (the equivalent of startx) I get the errors

    ** (gdm3: \seemingly random number here, different every time I boot\): WARNING **: Failed to acquire org.gnome.DisplayManager

** (gdm3: \seemingly random number here, different every time I boot\): WARNING **: Failed to acquire name; bailing out

This all started after I installed nVidia drivers according to this guide: http://wiki.debian.org/NvidiaGraphic...Version_304.88

    Thanks in advance for helping!
