apt-get installs have trouble locating packages

First off I did some reading, I do not want to mess up my kali install as it is dual booting with windows great and everything is working great now except for when I do an apt-get install.....I get errors which I believe has something to do with my original install and or the partitions I manually made before installing the OS's. I get this sort of error...

E: Unable to locate package qbittorrent.

seems like it would be a simple thing like pointing kali to look at a certain location for the package it downloaded, instead of the default maybe. I just don't want to mess it up real bad. When I installed I did not have internet, so it did not update automatically at that point.....

I link or hint in the right direction would be great...as long as its fool proof...lol I am very new and I am trying to make this my only os by years end....

When I had backtrack installed, it never got that error, the only differences were internet was connected during install and I only had one partition..

    Thankyou.

  2. What does your sources.list file look like?

    #deb cdrom:[Debian GNU/Linux 7.0 _Kali_ - Official Snapshot i386 LIVE/INSTALL Binary 20130327-18:35]/ kali contrib main non-free

I found out searching your question about that file called sources.list, I got answers that the file is not setup when you don't connect to the internet while installing kali right now, and needs to be edited manually, which explains why it didn't update like it did the first time round when I installed kali with the internet hooked up, does everything else install ok while installing without internet hooked up?
I will look around and edit with some good links as needed and hope for the best thanks!

    ****EDIT****

I added these, hopefully they are the latest

deb http://http.kali.org/kali kali main contrib non-free
    deb-src http://http.kali.org/kali kali main contrib non-free
    deb http://security.kali.org/kali-security kali/updates main contrib non-free

Perhaps this documentation helps a bit, it explains the repos and it's use.
