    Problem with kali iso's

Okay so ive downloaded 3 different .iso's and burned them to three different cd's in order to install kali on my hard drive. The first disk installed fine but would not boot due to a "error: file system unknown" by grub, and running
    Code:
    grub-install /dev/sda
Did not work, also using the super grub2 disk and rescatux and reinstalling grub didnt work either.

So i downloaded a new kali iso and burned it to a disk except this time is kept having this error
    Code:
end _request: I/O error, dev sr1, sector XXXXX
(The X's are various numbers that keep changing) and then it keeps looping this,
    Code:
    udevd[891]: timeout: killing '
and then what I think are processes of some sort.
This kept showing up over and over again when i tried to go into a normal live session.

So i decided to burn a third disk, and this time i tried to start a normal live session and it would stop at this:
    Code:
    [ 12.944027] usb 2-5: reset high-speed USB device number 4 using ehci_hcd
So i pressed enter and got this promt: (initramfs)

I decided to run the cd again, i restarted my computer and booted up the live cd and tried to start a normal live session and it said that this debian live cd is corrupted.

I have tried everything and spent the last 3 days trying to find an answer but it seems like nobody is having this problem. Do i keep downloading corrupted iso's?

I am running 64-bit computer and an intel processor.

You are able to check to see if your downloaded image(s) are corrupt, by checking the (SHA-1) checksum. For more information about on the subject, check here: http://docs.kali.org/downloading/dow...i-linux-images

The current image checksums can be found here: http://cdimage.kali.org/SHA1SUMS
For the older releases you can find their values here: http://forums.kali.org/showthread.ph...x-SHA-1-Hashes

Depending what operating system and software you used to burn the image, you're able to verify if the burn was also successful.
For example, Windows has 'ImgBurn' which is freware (http://www.imgburn.com/) that allows you to burn at 1x (the slower the better), as well as verify the disk afterwards.

Once you know you a valid image source, as well as valid media with the image loaded onto it, then try and boot from it.
    Hopefully it will then work...

So I made a new disk. Checked the SHA-1 checksums and they matched. Burned the disk the slowest my burner could go, and verified the written data. The CD booted up fine and everything installed fine. But now I'm still getting "error: unknown filesystem." By grub. I have no idea why this is happening everything installed fine. And I did everything I could to try and fix it but it just won't work. Any ideas? U

Which version of kali are you using, 1.0.x?
Which edition of kali are you using, x64?

Are you trying to 'dual boot'?
What is/was on the hard drive before you tried to install?

Are you able to take a screenshot of the error?

I have the same problems now as well. Says.

    Code:
    udevd[3400]: '/sbin -blkid -o udev -p /dev/sda99' terminated by signal 9
I noticed the error randomly went ahead and killed atleast 88 sda randonly lined up causing trigger signals. All were '9's.
I have no idea what's going on, and then, this came up!

    Code:
    udevd[3700] Specified group 'pcscd' unknown
After this there were lot of errors which came by in flash, all related to udev somehow.
This just goes on and on.

Eventually after all these errors, kali still went "setting" all the prelimanary maps etc (If not told, this is latest 2014 Kali 1.0.7 ISO I loaded up on a exFAT filesystem because the FAT32 system USB I created was 8GB and still I got those same errors while installing from the stick).

Portmapper didn't run, so didn't PulseAudio, which I think is normal when doing a "Live" boot from the ground-up, however, I was then prompted with 'that' friendly 'cursor' on waiting mode. And then "Oh no! Something has gone wrong" prompt. It says:

    Code:
A problem has occured and the system can't recover. Please log out and try again.
I tried 6 times, I am tired as I write this. Have never been so frustuated with Kali before. I tested this both on a Dell Mini Inspiron 1018 Series, and Dell Latitude E6420 with i5 2520M as configurations. Is this a faulty hard-drive?

    I had a similar problem installing Kali 1.0.7 x64.
    Try the following;

    1. format the hard disk you want to install kali on to ext2

    2. boot a live usb
    http://docs.kali.org/installation/ka...sb-persistence

    3. install kali from the dropdown menu

    4. when bootloader install fails, use the following;

"CD drive error when installing Kali " I feel the same way. I tried a multitude of (the same) downloads, 3 different computers, USB stick and several cd/dvd's. I even went and bought a brand new dell today to (only) run Kali on!...same problems i.e. it won't get thru a complete install without giving me an error that I can't get past...any ideas?
