Your Network is probably not using the DHCP protocol.

i am trying to install kali from a dvd. I keep getting this error when i install it:
Your Network is probably not using the DHCP protocol.Alternatively, the dhcp server may be slow or some network hardware is not working properly.

I can skip this step from here by simply clicking the continue option, the installtion then goes fine. But then i am not able to use the internet. It shows disconnected at the network option present on the desktop.I badly need my internet to work and i am novice in all this.. so please give me your valuable suggestions.
    1. I am trying to install kali on desktop pc which has wired broadband.
    2. From my laptop which has windows 8 , i use wifi and everything works fine.
    3. I am using belkin n150 wirless modem router.i

My guess is that your network is probably not using the DHCP protocol...
Try setting a static IP in Kali and see if that works.

    Please make sure :

    1. The network card drive was installed correctly. ( don't forget to check using lsusb command
    2. Enable the network device using ifconfig command
    3. Set the IP address correctly whether using DHCP or not. You're able to use the ifconfig command to set the IP address.

Hint : please read the manual of ifconfig using the command below :
    man ifconfig
OSCP | OSWP | Offsec is the best :)
