    VM vs HDD Installation Question

In the past I have always used Backtrack/Kali on a dedicated laptop but recently have decided to try and cut down on the number of systems needed. My main concerns with moving Kali from a dedicated system to a VM are...
    1. Reducing the functionality of Kali.
    2. Separation of Host & VM when it comes to using the hosts NIC/Wifi adapter during usage..AKA...Not exposing myself
    3. Other issues that I may not be aware of when using VM instead of on-metal.

If anyone could help out with any advice it would be appreciated.
    Thanks

I usually using the VMware Fusion to run the Kali Linux in My OS X. With the virtual machine you're able to simulate the pentest lab using some Operating Systems with any network configuration . Beside that It's very easy to Backup and restore the virtual machine .
