Strange install Problem

Just helped a friend do a fresh install of Kali on his laptop and every thing works fine, except.
He can connect to the internet, search google Ect, but when he clicks the Kali Forums link on
iceweasel it just hangs and does not direct him to the link??
Has any one had this trouble or could anyone direct me to a thread if its already been posted.

Please, be more specific. Can you connect to the router?

Have you tried with the ethernet port?...Is it only wifi that cannot connect?...What type of wifi card do you have?

Are you running VM, HDD or USB install?

Also in addition to maverik35's questions, can he connect to the forums directly not using the link? And if not, have him try using google's dns servers 8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4.
