Using Nvidia Geforce GT 650m GPU on Kali Linux in VirtualBox

Hi,

I have a Mac Book pro with 1 GB Nvidia Geforce GT 650m graphics Card. I am using Virtualbox to run Kali Linux. How can i use my GPU on kali Linux?

I have tried all the other available posts but found nothing.

lspci | grep -i vga
00:02.0 VGA compatible controller: InnoTek Systemberatung GmbH VirtualBox Graphics Adapter

This is what is listed in kali linux as my VGA GPU.

If virtualbox is not compatible, is there any other virtualization software i can use to enable this functionality?

I too would be interested in an answer to this, as I've got the same setup.

It's not going to work in virtualbox. Your GPU is attached to the host for the graphics emulating for the whole system, you can't just set it to the guest OS because you would have no video card for the host OS and I don't even know what would happen from there. The only way you might be able to do it is by making a bootable USB or booting from a disc. No virtualization software can do this.

Can you install xen on OSX?

If your CPU supports VT-D you can directly mount the nvidia to a VM.

Disclaimer: DOING THIS ON A LAPTOP IS VERY BUGGY as both GPU's share the same framebuffer.
