Ice weasel keep crashing when started, have googled alot and nothing

So ice weasel keeps freezing computers when started. everytime. ive tryed clicking shortcut button and typing it in terminal. still nothing. i have googled and done my research and cant seem to find a resolve.

    what ive tryed:
    remove n reinstall iceweasel.
    remove iceweasel and install firefox.
    upgrade and updated system
    added links to sources.list.
commented out file: file in default-modules.conf
disables mozilla plugin in safe mode
made another user and it still froze

What happens when you try and start iceweasel from command line?

Have you tried using safe mode?
If you can get that far, is there anything in the console?

    Code:
    root@kali~$ iceweasel -h
    Usage: iceweasel [ options ... ] [URL]
           where options include:

    X11 options
      --display=DISPLAY X display to use
      --sync Make X calls synchronous
      --g-fatal-warnings Make all warnings fatal

    Iceweasel options
-h or -help Print this message.
-v or -version Print Iceweasel version.
      -P <profile> Start with <profile>.
      -migration Start with migration wizard.
      -ProfileManager Start with ProfileManager.
-no-remote Do not accept or send remote commands; implies -new-instance.
-new-instance Open new instance, not a new window in running instance.
-UILocale <locale> Start with <locale> resources as UI Locale.
-safe-mode Disables extensions and themes for this session.
      -jsconsole Open the Error console.
      -browser Open a browser window.
      -new-window <url> Open <url> in a new window.
      -new-tab <url> Open <url> in a new tab.
      -preferences Open Preferences dialog.
-search <term> Search <term> with your default search engine.
-recording <file> Record drawing for a given URL.
-recording-output <file> Specify destination file for a drawing recording.
-setDefaultBrowser Set this app as the default browser.
    root@kali~$ iceweasel -safe-mode
    root@kali~$ iceweasel -jsconsole

iceweasel -h freezes computer. i tryed "iceweasel -safe-mode" freezes.?is there maybe a different deb http:// i should put in sources.list and uninstall n install or maybe jus update? Could i have done somthing wrong in install?

BTW when i turn the comp on it says 3.7-trunk-amd64.this must be from the update and upgrade?

so i installed kali 1.0.5-i386.(iceweasel had worked in USB live) before i installed so i tryed to install it again and when i did iceweasel still froze the comp?

Did you check the SHA1 checksum before making it?
Did you check the USB stick before hand to make sure its still working correctly? (e.g. http://hddscan.com/)
What speed is the USB stick?
Is it plugged into a USB 1/2/3 port?

No, you shouldn't alter your source file (for more information see here: http://docs.kali.org/general-use/kal...t-repositories)

That update shouldn't have an effect on it - but you could try and do it.

    Identical problem to me as Reported 3 PROBLEMS WITH KALI-LINUX { had mispelt problem}
I have since put Kali in Virtualbox & it works O.K.
But I cant be to hard on Kali as Ive had this problem with Kubuntu 13.04 Parted Magic even Mint gave me a Green Screen OF Death.
Cold comfort I know. I have not had 1 problem with Fire-fox in 5 years.
Unless its tweaked I recomenned sticking in to Virtualbox.

    Virtualbox requires no hard-ware virtualization

I'm not sure you need this exactly, but the person who had a similar problem wrote this for us. This is how I solved my Ice Weasel issue as well.

I was getting annoyed with IceWeasel not working properly with Mega, so wanted to install Chrome.
Obviously there are security implications with running Chrome as root, but if you want to try it out,
    here is how its done.

Download the deb package from www.google.com/chrome
(you can browse to the page in IceWeasel and it will have the deb as standard, I then chose the 32bit version) <-------------***OBVIOUSLY DO THIS FROM ANOTHER COMPUTER OR YOUR PHONE (w/ a data plan)***

    Install the package with:
    Code:
dpkg -i google-chrome-stable_current_i386.deb to find the exact location of said folder, you can go to where the folder is located and drag it into terminal so that it gives you the exact address and location of the item you placed.

Goodluck. This is exactly how I solved my Ice Weasel woes as well.

I updated my Nvidia drivers and it fixed the same issue that the poster had.

    apt-get update
    apt-get dist-upgrade
    apt-get install -y linux-headers-$(uname -r)
    apt-get install nvidia-kernel-dkms

I have the same problem, Kali vrashes when I start Iceweasel.

I tried this and at third command (apt-get install -y linux-headers-$(uname -r))it returned:
E: Unable to locate package linux-headers-3.14-kali1-amd64
E: Couldn't find any package by regex 'linux-headers-3.14-kali1-amd64'
    At fourth (apt-get install nvidia-kernel-dkms ):
    Reading package lists... Done
    Building dependency tree
    Reading state information... Done
So no update was made, I guess.
    What can I do?
