I tried downloading the Kali Linux 1.0.5 64-Bit ISO from the http://www.kali.org/downloads/ (mirror:
http://archive-4.kali.org/kali-image....0.5-amd64.iso). Both times the download completed successfully (twice, it failed due to Network Error) the SHA-1 hash was determined to be d6063b04381f603a2602229974b35d3932a53223 by Free MD5 SHA1 Verifier. Clearly, d6063b04381f603a2602229974b35d3932a53223 and 914eebd1ae64015d4d8b2281143caa466d44b280 are not the same. I would say that something is wrong with the source as neither ISOs were able to be read by Oracle VirtualBox (Version 4.2.18 r88780) on my Win7 (amd64) VAIO laptop.
Checking SHA-1 is essential, if the ISO could be read. Unfortunately, neither of these cases is True, especially if the SHA-1 provided both on http://www.kali.org/downloads/ and http://archive-4.kali.org/kali-image...1.0.5/SHA1SUMS are "correct".
Anyone else having this problem?
I'm going to try the Torrent; see how that goes.
