    Nessus - empty policy list

    Hello,
I installed Nessus like in this link: http://www.hackandtinker.net/2013/10...essus-on-kali/

I had downloaded activation key for HomeUse and I agree for "Check to receive updates from Tenable" and
"I agree to the terms of service".

But... When I start Nessus I have empty policy list
I don't know how can I get standard policy? Please for help with it.

    i'm not expert but i think :
on the "news" versions after 5.2 you can create a "your-policies" list with a wizard

Some about week ago I have installed Nessus. After install I haven't 4 default policies but later I have it.
But I don't remember what I did to show it. Now I install again and don't have this 4 defaults. I am begginer in this and I need this standards policies to learn

But... If You do not have to... You may right.
But 2... why about week ago (or some days more), I had it?

    ri-i-think:
if you want a ""default policies""""old-fashioned"" repeat i think you have to use a old version of nessus < 5.2 (5.0.1 or 5.0.3)

the problem had already left long ago

I installed like You sad. Version 5.0.0 and still on fresh install I have not default policy list.
Is anybody who can help my? Maybe I do something wrong with installation or I should do something after install?

Few days ago I did something and I had default policies. But do not know what I did
And now I have fresh installation and I fight with it.

    Reply from Nessus Author:

"We moved away from the default policies model to a wizard model. Basically, click on "New Policies" and you'll be able to re-create policies that are similar to what we used to install by default, except that you'll have better options to tune them."

    You can re-create them:
    - New policy -> Basic Network Scan -> Internal: That's the former "internal scan" policy
    - New policy -> Basic Network Scan -> Internal: That's the former "external scan" policy
    - New policy -> Web Application test : That's the former "web app test" policy
    - New policy -> Prepare for PCI DSS audits : That's the former "Prepare for PCI" policy

As I told: I had this default policies some about 2 weeks ago after installation. That was a point with I asked about my problem. Dev moved away from default policies few days ago. So zimmaro read, think & smile.
