    USB install partition error

I can write the image to the USB drive just fine, but when I go through the set up process I get the following error:

Error informing kernel about modifications to partition /dev/sdb2--Device or resource busy

I assume this means my USB drive is not properly formatted. I have tried a formatt manager program with no success. I do not have access to a linux machine. Am I correct that this error is caused by an incorrect USB formatt? If so how do I formatt it correctly without access to a linux machine. All I have now is Windows Vista.

  2. If your intuition is correct, simply use the windows format utility from windows explorer and format the usb to fat32.

What tool do you use to write the ISO to the USB stick?
    Is the stick fat32 formated?
Do you plug the stick directly into the PC or into a USB hub?
