What is the best handheld/smart phone for Kali?

It could be a tablet also. What are the options to run Kali on something smaller than a laptop?

is Samsung Galaxy NoteII a good choice?

What make/model do you prefer and why?

It's a 99% chance you will find what you're looking for before you make a post.

ARMEL and ARMHF support: Since ARM-based systems are becoming more and more prevalent and inexpensive, we knew that Kali’s ARM support would need to be as robust as we could manage, resulting in working installations for both ARMEL and ARMHF systems. Kali Linux has ARM repositories integrated with the mainline distribution so tools for ARM will be updated in conjunction with the rest of the distribution. Kali is currently available for the following ARM devices:
    rk3306 mk/ss808
    Raspberry Pi
    ODROID U2/X2
    Samsung Chromebook
    EfikaMX
    Beaglebone Black
    CuBox
    Galaxy Note 10.1
Kali is specifically tailored to penetration testing and therefore, all documentation on this site assumes prior knowledge of the Linux operating system.

nah not really. And one of the original question remains. What make/model do you prefer and why? Thank you for the list. I would like to have real life experience feedback with some of those devices. The size of those devices is appealing, and at the same time the size of the screen is worrying.

I understand the question clearly. The thing is, no true enthusiast of pen-testing will offer a "best" solution when clearly everyone's needs are a bit different. You have factors such as cost, experience, familiarity, and requirements among others to consider. There aren't many people in the active community who has tried each and every device to offer a "best" suggestion. Besides, if you do follow the advice of one who suggests a "best" device to install Kali, you may not agree after the fact because of the factors to be considered. I am not having it out in the discussions rather offering some insight to try each one on your own and learn about them in depth and then answer than question based off of your own experience.

So what portable devices are you using to run Kali? The original question remains.

I'm looking at the Samsung Galaxy Note 8.0 http://www.samsung.com/us/mobile/gal...GT-N5110ZWYXAR

    Anyone tried it with Kali?
