Ettercap not working in gtk mode,

I tried to removed and installed again (used aptitude command insted of apt-get for this).


The error i am getting:-

Works fine for me:

...make ..a proof ...if you want....try this command in "only" root directory:
1) /usr/sbin/ettercap -G
or
if you have update & upgrade your kali (ettercap 0.8.0) worked also :
2) /usr/bin/ettercap-pkexec -G

..&& ..see if you have same errors!!

or try to reinstall it(tested now && worked in my-live-mode):

apt-get install --reinstall ettercap-graphical -y
......
AFTER:

root@kali:~# ettercap -G

i think (but i'm not expert)
your """ettercap-part-of-kali""" is brocken or something is missing!!
ONLY for test i download a complete package from official website and I "" tried "" Where is your error.... comes!!!
...bohhh(I do not know read the code)!! have you (physically) in /etc/ directory the file etter.conf?.....seems here:

I tried to install manually using make and make install
i am getting following error-

root@Life:~/flashgotall/ettercap-0.8.0/build# cmake ../
CMake Error at /usr/share/cmake-2.8/Modules/FindGTK2.cmake:397 (message):
Could not find GTK2 include directory

I don't know what to do now, i don't want to reinstall whole OS just for ettercap please guys help me.

I had the same problem. I just updated kali and it works now.

We now place the etter.conf file in /etc/ettercap/etter.conf

If that doesn't exist, do an apt-get install --reinstall ettercap

I did a locate on a fresh Kali 1.0.6 install and its there.

It's not working but thank you guys, i am able to use ettercap when i am using the live os.
In the end it's worth it.
I think i will go for a fresh os reinstall in future.

i have similar problem... my etter.conf is empty and when i try to reinstall says "
