    D-Link DWA-162 N900 compatibility?

    Hi all,

I am new to Kali Linux, finished installing x64 OS and love it. Issue I am having is my D-Link DWA-162 N900 USB wireless adapter is not recognized by kali, it was also not recognized in backtrack5 and on some other linux OS we well.

Anyone know what needs to be done? I have updated kali to the latest upgrades by issuing apt-get update and apt-get upgrade, still kali is not seeing wlan.

Please share your knowledge, thanks in advance and happy new year to all.

I'm not an expert so I may be wrong, but I think with d-link you may be out of luck, if there's no drivers for it in /lib/firmware/ and doesn't appear to be anything here either http://wireless.kernel.org/en/users/Drivers

If you do device to get a new USB wireless adapter, you may want to take a look at the recommended ones: https://forums.kali.org/showthread.p...Wireless-Cards

Edit: check out my post here and give this a try https://forums.kali.org/showthread.p...-Drivers/page4
