btscanner 2.0 2.1

i opened btscanner and see that it is 2.0 on kali. i have been doing updates and upgrades but it's not updating. I see a tutorial on how to do so for bt5r3, but it says to change the location of the download. will that effect anything in kali?

or what would be the best way to update?

here is an old bt3 video explaining how to setup the hcid.conf file for btscanner... well that file doesn't exit anymore. now we have serial.conf, main.conf,input.conf, audio.conf, proximity.conf rfcomm.conf, etc...

which of these would I use to configure?
