[TPLINK tl-wn723n] kali not reckonizing my usb wireless adpater--Ubuntu 12.04 does

    Hi,

Kali will not detect my tp-link. Ubuntu 12.04 has not problem on VBbox. I am using a mac book pro as VBox host. So....is there a missing command? How do I get kali distro to recognize my wireless adapter so I can proceed with my learning?

    root@kali:~# lsusb
Bus 001 Device 002: ID 80ee:0021 VirtualBox USB Tablet
Bus 001 Device 001: ID 1d6b:0001 Linux Foundation 1.1 root hub

    on ubunutu

    ubuntu@ubuntu:~/workspace/$ sudo lsusb
    [sudo] password for ubuntu:
Bus 001 Device 001: ID 1d6b:0001 Linux Foundation 1.1 root hub
Bus 001 Device 006: ID 80ee:0021 VirtualBox USB Tablet
Bus 001 Device 007: ID 0bda:8179 Realtek Semiconductor Corp.

    tp-link tl-wn723n

As of now rather concerned about using kali. Does not work out of the box...posted previously and my post has yet to show up. So..kali moderators..is there a better place to seek help?

    Thanks

There are several version of your device with different chipsets.
We need to know what is the exact model of the chipset that you have.
