ARP Ping bug? no entries in the table

    Hi

I am trying to find out if the following is a bug in Kali or something that has been deliberately configured for reasons unknown.

If I ping -c 1 a host on my subnet and then issue the arp or arp -a command there will be an entry in the arp table for around 60 secs.

If however I ping -c 1 a number of hosts ie more than 3 or 4 , when I issue the aro or arp -a command it tells me there are no entries in the table.

Does anyone know if this is a deliberate feature and if so why or is it a bug and Kali is flushing or not filling the arp cache properly??

    Many thanks
