[Help] Password Authentication Failed - Postgresql, Metasploit, and Kali

    Host platform: Windows 8.1
Running 32bit Kali 1.0.6 in Virtual

After a clean install when I run:
    service postgresql start;service metasploit start;msfconsole

    I receive:

Failed to connect to the database: FATAL: password authentication failed for user "msf3"
FATAL: password authentication failed for user "msf3"

and I haven't found anywhere else on google that this problem exists... other than a guy on twitter asking metasploit how to fix it...
    Anyone have any suggestions?

    Update/Work Around 29Jan14:
I've still yet to discover a fix for this issue. But I have discovered the cause and a workaround: It appears that when using any 32bit systems or vms downloaded from kali.org i will receive this error. But it does not appear to be present in the 64bit versions. So my work around is to install a 64bit version and this appears to solve the issue for me.
