I installed the nvidia drivers and its working fine, all screens are working properly resolution is fine and all, but when I install nvidia-settings it removes my drive then tell me X can't start properly until nvidia driver is disabled from xorg.conf... WTH??? I figured perhaps the driver that installed with nvidia-kernel-kdms isn't compatible or something so I went and removed nvidia-driver from xorg.conf as told but then it when I reboot nvidia-settings now tells me I'm not using a nvidia-driver?!?
Is there any alternatives to nvidia-settings? Or any clues with whenever I install nvidia-settings it disable my driver from nvidia-kernel-kdms and when I reinstall nvidia-kernel-kdms it uninstall nvidia-settings? I don't get it everywhere I look people are installing them together...
