Firstly i would like to say hello to all who read this as it is my first post.
I have started using Kali linux over the past couple of weeks and have now come across a situation that i cant manage to fix.
Im doing some testing on gaining access to windows machine from the SAM files. I have so far managed to mnt the correct drive and copy the files needed to create the hash.txt file.
The problem comes when i try to use John.
Soon as i run the tool it comes back and says 3 passwords found but does not actually find anthing.
I also breifly tried hashcat but it was just giving me a length exception error and not loading any of the 3 hashes.
Can anybody shed any light on this for me as i would really like to be able to complete this task.
