problem in installing vmware image of kali linux

I have tried installing following vmware images of kali 1.0.6

kali Linux 1.0.6 64 bit VMware image
Kali Linux 1.0.6 32 bit VMWare image
Kali Linux 1.0.6 32 bit PAE VMWare image

    provided at http://www.offensive-security.com/ka...mage-download/
on VMWare Workstation 9.02 . My host OS is Windows 7 x64.

But following error pops out for all the three cases

The configuration file XYZ.vmx (XYZ.vmx is corresponding vmx filefor above three cases)was created by a VMware product that is incompatible with this version of VMware Workstation and cannot be used.

Then a pop up window comes with following error :-
Cant find a valid peer process to connect to

I am a novice . I have spent almost a week googling for it .I am yet to get a solution.
    Thanks in advance for help

To use the pre-made VMware workstations images, you need to use workstation 10 or higher.
Otherwise, you need to install Kali in its own VM yourself so thats its compatible with workstation 9.

If you wish, you can use the latest version of VMware player (free), or upgrade to workstation 10.

Does anyone have tried to upload it to the ESX server yet?
as ESX Server can't open it as well.
