Hi all,

Apologies if this is seen as a noob question but...

Now I know how to use the program chkrootkit but what I'd like to know is if I have a windows machine say running windows 7 that I think might have been infected with some malware, can I boot Kali from a live CD and run chkrootkit to find malware on the windows 7 files? Or will chkrootkit only search the Kali Linux files?

Kali only.

However, ClamAV is in the repos and would be able to scan the windows 7 partition.
