Angry Cannot login to Kali from live USB

I just created a Kali 1.0.6 live USB using a tool called "Mac Linux USB Loader" and everything seems fine up until the point where you are supposed to login.
At the login screen I'm greeted with the choice of user "Other" where I have to manually enter at username and password.
The problem is that I have not created a user or set any password, and "root" as user and "toor" as password doesn't work.

Please follow the docs to create a USB stick

You can use the same 'dd' command as the Linux guide.

I've already tried that (creating it manually using OS X Terminal), but when I do that I get another problem:
Everything is fine until Kali is being loaded, it stops loading after a few seconds at a line that says "sd 6:0:0:0: [sdb] Attached SCSI removable disk".
Read here about how I tried to do it manually: http://superuser.com/questions/73258...nux-usb-on-mac
However, I fail to see why I would want to do it manually since Kali now boots properly - the only problem is the login.

2 things my friend, and gotmilk is pointing to kali docs:
    1. make sure the download integrity is fine (SHA1)
    2. dd if=kali.iso of=/dev/sdb bs=512k Just that, no fancy, things like the one you posted. In few words, Do as stated in Kali Docs, please, just forget about windows or osx world.

If even then, doing it as stated EXACTLY in the kali docs, then you might want to try another usb stick.
