I have searched the forums and web and I have not been able to find anything that will help fix my issue.
I have installed Kali Linux 32bit on my old Dell Inspiron 6000.
I can re-install if needed or if it will be easier to get the wifi drivers installed.
I have downloaded the broadcom-wl-4.80.53.0.tar.bz2 file and I slapped it on my desktop.
I read to type this command in Terminal:
cd '/home/`uname -r` ~/Desktop/broadcom-wl-4.80.53.0 2/kmod'
then:
sudo b43-fwcutter -w /lib/firmware/`uname -r` ~/Desktop/wl_apsta.o
Wait until extracted, then:
sudo modprobe b43
Well the first line did not work. Said directory not found.
If I wanted to just start the install over. How do I go about doing the install so it will detect the drivers/firmware?
During the network install I got this error: : missing firmware "b43/ucode5.fw" "b43/ucode5.fw"
Thanks for any help!
