kali GUI no log in after removing packagekit

well , life it is just like that , Linux is not like windows , in linux if you mess with some packages then your linux will problably not start .
That happened to me an hour ago after i notice that service packagekit was consuming 100% of my cpu without me doing nothing in the computer .
i looked the net and i found that packagekit is the one responsable for software updates on gui of kali .
a lot of programs depends on pakagekit .

So what i did was :
    apt-get purge packagekit
    apt-get autoremove

    boommm

after restarting , only terminal was avaliable after login at old school backtrack style .
    startx does not work .

one interesting thing in this is that i started xrdp service , and i notice from other machine that when i remote desktop kali i get my gui back , but only on RDP .

anyone have a slight idea how to fix this ?

Note: to learn something , first you have to mess it out with it .

well . i did that and it did not work .
i already fixed the problem using aptitude and installing a lot of packages .
i installed so many things to put kali gui working again that i have to check the instalation again .
i think that one of the solutions was installing gdm3 desktop .
    something like that .

You should really look at what else you're purging and removing before you hit enter

I've done it before I bet you saw your GUI vanish before your eyes yes?
I just re-installed, hopefully you're sensible enough to have backed up your stuff brother!

Well , reply to my own thread .
I dont remember quite well , but i believe that when packagekit was removed then the gnome theme and kali login interface was removed too .
Usually to solve this problem , the best way is to reinstall the theme again and check out the graphic card configuration .

    Code for kali 1.0
    apt-get install gnome-core kali-defaults kali-root-login desktop-base
