Q - How to make the Alfa Long Range USB adaptor work on Kali

Hi All, I have retired from the #! (Crunchbang) community to join you.

As a newbie, I am experiencing a basic problem which does not affect #! users - I do not know how to install my Alfa Network AWUS036NHA USB wireless receiver.

I bought the adaptor because reviews highly regard the device with Kali; I also have the CD with Linux drivers - what do I do next please?

the dirvers and the firmware are includad in backports so it works out of the box, just plug your adaptador and enjoy

Solved: Q - How to make the Alfa Long Range USB adaptor work on Kali

Thanks kcdtv; the plug and play unfortunately did not work for me , so used a wired connection and package manager to install Atheros drivers.

Should be plug and play. I had an issue with VMware not recognizing the Alfa card... I fixed it by upgrading to the latest VMware release and installing the extended package they offer.
